Sunday School

We have a wonderful and growing Sunday School program that meets weekly from the second Sunday in September through the second Sunday in June. Our Interim Sunday School Superintendent is Bethany Morrill.
Students in Preschool through 7th grade meet 9:15-10:15 am at the Church.

The Confirmation Program participants meet at specially designated times and are led by Pastor Dave Buchanan.

Sunday School teachers are all volunteers approved by and in covenant with the Board of Christian Education. Our goal as a Sunday School is to help each child develop in faith and community. The children learn about the Bible in a variety of ways including stories, skits, games, music and craft projects.

We use the Buzz curriculum from Group Publishing as our curriculum. From their website:

Sunday school stays fresh and different every week. Because it is an interactive learning experience, children can learn through reading, acting, drawing, singing, listening, and playing. Spin-wheel games and discussion starters offer a multitude of variety in the classroom.

Bible points and Christian character are taught through less common Biblical stories. The essentials are included (Adam & Eve, Noah, David, etc) but they are supplemented with additional character lessons. For example, Kindergarten children learn to pray for forgiveness from Jonah in the belly of the whale and 3rd & 4th Grade students learn to control their anger through Genesis 4 where Cain kills his brother in anger.

During the regular 10:30am Church Worship Service, we have a Nursery for our youngest members, a Children's Sermon early in the Service and Mustard Seed for all elementary age students to participate in a fun, creative time while their parents enjoy the Sermon.
