Pre-Anniversary Kickoff Open House

Date: Sunday, October 15, 2017
Time: 9:15 AM - 1:00 PM
Location: First Congregational Church, Boylston

At this time of year, in 1742, members of the spread-out Shrewsbury parish were awaiting a decision by the Colonial Legislature. They had petitioned for division into two parishes. A couple of months later, the area now known as Boylston became part of what was known as the North Precinct. This was the beginning of what would become the First Congregational Church of Boylston, and the Town of Boylston. We plan to celebrate our 275th anniversary during the course of the coming year. (Our Sunday School will be celebrating its 200th anniversary.)

We invite our friends and neighbors to come visit! See and experience what the present of nearly three centuries of history is like.

Join us on Sunday, October 15, for an Open House! Sunday School starts at 9:15 a.m. Parents are welcome to visit their children’s classrooms, or enjoy a cup of coffee while the children enjoy their lesson. Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. It will be a Family Worship Sunday, so we are never quite sure what Pastor Dave will come up with as a message for all ages. After worship (about 11:40 a.m.), we gather in the Fellowship Hall for coffee, tea, punch, and assorted goodies. Even better than the goodies is the good company.

Please come join us for any or all parts of our church morning! If you can’t make it before Fellowship Time, come try out our coffee and company. Have you ever wondered about what our church looks like from the inside? Come take a tour! Ask us why there are four dates on our cornerstone. Bring a friend. Bring your family. Find out what we are like, and how we gather for teaching, worship, and fellowship, without any commitment or coercion. We would just like very much to welcome you, meet you, and give you the opportunity to visit the First Congregational Church of Boylston.

If you are a regular member of our church family, please pass this invitation (and some encouragement) to a friend or neighbor.
